Audi A6 Quattro
| ||Model of the car:||Audi A6 Quattro|
| ||General comments:||We've had a 1999 A6 Quattro for over two years now, and love the car. We have had no driveability problems whatsoever. We have had a series of inconvenience service needs - particularly with the gas gauge (both repairs - all under warranty, and recalls) and with the power windows. We have never run out of gas nor spent a dime on the gas gauge problem, but we've probably been back to the dealer at least six times on the problem. The car is great to ride in, but the interior seems more designed to European than American tastes, as might be expected. The cup holders are just plain cheap - reminds of Subarus I've rented. If Audi has not yet changed to the type of cup holders that the 2001.5 Passat has, they should. The other interior complaint is probably a personal style preference - while driving in rush hour traffic, I would find a digital clock easier to glance at. It would also be nice to have an in dash rather than in trunk CD changer. When we bought the 1999, the 2.8 6 cyl engine was the only engine choice. Our other car has an 8 cylinder engine, and by comparison the 6 feels a bit underpowered, particularly in quick acceleration. It's certainly adequate and the highway gas mileage often exceeds the EPA rating, but if you crave powerful engines, be sure to test drive all engine choices on the A6 before buying.|
